Some of the common questions that come to mind

Should I feed Raw or Pre-Cooked Meals?

At Paw Kitchen we offer two incredible choices that are made from human grade fresh ingredients. Our raw as well as pre cooked meals are prepared based on recipes formulated by our panel of well known pet nutritionists. So It finally depends on you and your pet's choice of food. With either choice, you cant go wrong.

I can prepare the same meals at home, can't I?

Yes, you indeed can make these meals at home, and we encourage all pet owners to shift to Fresh food from commercially available kibble or canned food. That said, meals prepared based on recipes found on the internet or based on experience do not always meet the nutritional requirements of the pets. If the meals are not balanced, it can cause some serious complications in your pets over a period of time. At Paw Kitchen all our meals are based on recipes formulated by pet nutritionists who have followed the standards of FEDIAF / AAFCO. So you can be rest assured that your pets are receiving nutritionally balanced meals.

What is the meaning of fresh meals?

Once we procure our ingredients (meat and veg) from local suppliers, we prepare our meals and pre portion in packets which are then vacuum sealed. These products are then either delivered directly or frozen depending on what your requirements are. Vacuum sealing the meals preserves it 3 to 5 times longer than that stored in plastic containers or bags. It also protects food from dehydration and freezer burn thus maintaining the taste of the meat products and keeping it Fresh.

Why do Paw Kitchen's meals cost more than commercially available kibble or canned food?

Most commercially available pet food are bulk produced which contain a lot of preservatives to extend the shelf life. Many of these products are processed under high temperature, compromising the nutritional value of the meals. There have been increased incidences of pet food products being recalled due to high level of toxins, & since it is mass produced it takes some time, by then the damage is already done. At Paw Kitchen, we pride ourselves in using only 100% human grade ingredients in all our products. No preservatives, No processing, No fillers used. All our products are made by us in a human grade kitchen. In the end you should ask yourself, why is the kibble/canned food so cheap? Handling & Safety

What safety and health standards are incorporated in your prepartion and packaging?

We are following and complying with the Code of Practices by Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority so that the highest standards of food safety is followed.

How can I safely defrost the meals?

We recommend thawing the meals in the refrigerator which can take 24 to 48 hours to completely defrost. But sometimes we dont have time or refrigerator space. The next best alternative is defrosting using cool water. To do that, make sure the seal of the packaging is intact or put it into a leak proof bag. Submerge the entire meal in cool water, changing the water every 30 minutes so that it continues to thaw. The meals should be ready in around an hour's time. Once a meal packet is defrosted, it should be kept in the fridge and used within 5 days. You can keep up to a week's worth of food in the fridge at a time - the rest should be stored in the freezer.

Things to keep in mind when handling Frozen, Raw Food

Wash your hands, utensils and working surface with warm, soapy water before opening the bag. Once thawed, put the raw food into your pet’s stainless steel bowl for your pet to enjoy. We recommend using a stainless steel bowl because other materials like plastic and porcelain are porous and can trap germs over time. After your pet is finished eating, wash the dish with warm soapy water. Do not use the dishrag on other dirty dishes because you could contaminate them with raw food particles.
